  1. What nonsense. Bowing for his financial status? Or maybe a last minute raise? Without the workers, what will he be. Or maybe they’re just taking a break from being upstanding by resting their hands against their knees. I don’t see any reason to give this sort of respect to any capitalist. But then again, it is a hallmark of confucian societies to defer to wealth and power isn’t it.

  2. If your boss says, “Go out and pay your respects. Everyone, fall in outside Far East Plaza, wear white, in one row”, would you say no?

    I think the real question then is, “Why would the boss say that?”

    Either way, I just find it quite amusing that people actually do that. Considering this is done outside of a public area (Far East Plaza sidewalk), the mass of people in a heavily densely populated area, would it be considered as public nuisance and illegal assembly?
