Girl, 19, ‘worshipped’ and then gang-raped

19, ‘worshipped’ and then gang-raped

A 19-year-old girl was “worshipped” in a bizarre ritual by two friends who then turned her over to a group of men as a “sacrificial victim” to be gang-raped.

Harian Metro reported that in the 1am incident, the victim was repeatedly raped by three men at the bushes near Taman Layang Layang in Kuala Lumpur after the “worshipping” ritual.

The victim’s two-hour ordeal had started when her friends — a couple in their 20s — drove her to a dark spot near her workplace in Subang Jaya.

One of them then asked her to get down from the car before she was knocked unconscious and had her hands bound and her eyes covered with tape.

When the victim came to, she overheard her friends discussing with the group of men over how they would “deliver” her to them.

The victim, who had tried to escape, was then brought to the bushes where one of the men burnt the tip of her hair as a sign of “sacrifice.” The men threatened her with a parang before raping her.

The victim was later dropped off by the roadside and managed to hitch a ride back into town where she lodged a police report.

> The daily also highlighted the case of a red-faced bride who saw the 500 guests at her wedding reception go hungry after the catering company failed to turn up.

The bride’s brother Syed Mohd Hisham, 39, said his family was upset over the incident as they had already handed over RM5,000 as booking fee to the caterer last month and paid for the use of venue in Penang.

He said when the caterer failed to appear, his youngest sister Sharifah Norliza, in her 20s, cried from embarrassment.

He said the family was lucky that someone managed to later procure food from a nasi kandar restaurant, and that a representative from the company promised to compensate the family.

Man jailed for robbing friend

SINGAPORE: He took his friend’s car – by force – and drove it for more than a month. Now David Tay Chin Heng, 36, will be caned and jailed for not knowing how to accept “no” for an answer.

Tay had wanted to borrow the Honda Fit on March 4 this year, but his friend refused, saying he needed it for work.

The odd-job labourer continued his attempts to persuade his friend, but when the latter would not budge, Tay pulled out a metal rod from his pouch and warned his friend not to “make him go crazy”.

When his friend tried to drive out of the car park at Kaki Bukit Place, Tay snatched the key out of the ignition. Out of fear, his friend surrendered the vehicle to him and made a police report the next day.

The car was found more than a month later, abandoned in Bencoolen Street. The police found a metal rod, a baseball bat and a Swiss Army knife in the vehicle.

On Monday, Tay was jailed three years and a month, and ordered to be caned 12 times for robbery and driving without a valid licence and insurance. He will also be disqualified from driving for four years after his release.
